It's been two years since Lazer Sword's debut album. The SF-based duo has truly evolved. Memory, their sophomore release on Modeselektor's Monkeytown imprint in 2012, showcases a more mature and serious sound. Taking inspiration from Cybotron's Enter as seen on the cover art, Lando Kal and Low Limit delve deep into techno and electro roots with a hefty dose of bass. It's a refreshing shift from glitch - hop to something more substantial. Tracks like 'Pleasure Zone' and 'Point Of Return' offer industrial - strength electro, 'Missed A Spot' brings heavy ghetto tech pressure, and 'Better From U' and 'CHSEN' with Machine Drum feature forward - thinking riddims. This album is a great listen for both headphones and warehouse parties. Recommended!
