Description

Locust, a 5 - piece Korean band, made their mark in 1980 after winning Tongyang Broadcasting Company's 3rd Youth Gayo Festival with the song 'A Sky - Blue - Colored Dream' (not on this album). Comprising 4 male members and a female lead singer, they recorded 'I Told You So' in 1981. This was their only album as they disbanded soon after release. Locust was part of the 'campus group sound' trend that boomed in Korea after Munhwa Broadcasting Company's 1977 college music contest. These contests were a response to government crackdowns in the music scene. 'I Told You So' is filled with heavy psychedelic and progressive rock influences. Kim Tae - Min's colorful vocals and dark, aesthetic lyrics lead the way. The keyboard and guitar work build symphonic song structures. Although Kim Chang - hwan of Sanullim handled most of the songwriting and producing, it's Locust's talent that makes the tracks come alive. Check out 'Shadows', 'Night Path', and the title cut. This album comes with a 24bit 96kHz remaster from original master tapes, on 180g heavy - weight vinyl, in a gate - folded sleeve with a 4 - page color insert. The music label is Beat Ball Music, released in 1981 and re - released in 2018. Reviewed by BDL - 0023 on 12/18.

To use this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the record on the turntable, align it properly, and then carefully drop the needle onto the start of the groove. Enjoy the rich, warm sound of the music. When handling the record, always hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface, as this can affect the sound quality. After use, put the record back in its sleeve and store it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help keep the vinyl in good shape and preserve its sound for years to come. Also, take care of the gate - folded sleeve and the 4 - page color insert; don't bend or crease them as they add to the overall collectible value of the album.
