Description

The Goldring E3 is a top - of - the - range moving magnet (MM) cartridge hand - crafted by a British manufacturer. It won the 2021 What Hi - Fi award. This dual moving magnet cartridge comes with a super - elliptical stylus and an aluminum cantilever. The bonded super - elliptical stylus has a smaller front - to - back radius than a standard elliptical tip, delivering excellent high - frequency detail. During production, it's micro - adjusted for accurate tracking with almost any turntable. Its 'dual magnet' generator assembly offers better stereo separation and a more detailed musical sound stage. Handmade in the UK, it follows Goldring's philosophy of accurate reproduction of original recordings. The E Series is perfect for medium to high - mass tonearms on budget to medium - priced turntables, thanks to Magnetic Duplex Technology and Goldring Expert Adjustment. Tech specs: Violet color, aluminum cantilever, elliptical stylus with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil radius, 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency range, 1.5 dB channel balance at 1 kHz, over 20 dB channel separation at 1 kHz, 3.5 mV sensitivity (1 kHz @ 5 cm/sec), 20 mm/N static compliance, 20° vertical tracking angle, 47 k load resistance, 100 - 200 pF load capacitance, 400 mH internal inductance, 410 internal resistance, 6.9 g cartridge mass, 12.7 mm fixing centres, and a tracking force of 1.5 g - 2.5 g (2.0 g recommended).

Using the Goldring E3 Moving Magnet Cartridge is quite straightforward. First, make sure your turntable is turned off. Carefully install the cartridge on the tonearm, following the manufacturer's instructions. Adjust the tracking force to the recommended 2.0 grams. When you're ready to play a record, gently lower the tonearm onto the record. As for maintenance, keep the cartridge clean. You can use a soft brush to remove dust from the stylus regularly. Avoid touching the stylus with your fingers as the oils can damage it. When not in use, store the turntable in a dry and clean place. If you notice any changes in the sound quality, it might be time to check the tracking force or get the stylus inspected. Also, make sure your turntable's setup is still accurate as time goes by, as this can affect the cartridge's performance.
