It's been a while since Gold Panda's last album. This Berlin - based producer first wowed us on his debut, 'Lucky Shiner', with some beautifully crafted melodies. Since then, there have been a few singles and EPs, but 'Half of Where You Live' is his biggest work yet. Moving to Berlin seems to have shaped his sound. The album is full of dark, club - friendly moments, making it his most successful foray into dance - oriented music. 'Brazil', near the start of the album, is a prime example with its repeating rhythm and vocal phrase that keep the momentum going. There are also lots of delicate IDM elements, as if he's revisiting the Morr Music era of Berlin techno. 'The Most Livable City' best showcases the pitter - pattering micro - sampled sounds. This album sees Gold Panda exploring new sounds while documenting his life in the modern world. It comes as a 2LP in a die - cut sleeve, and you also get a free MP3 download. Using this Gold Panda album is super easy. If you have a vinyl player, just put the 2LP on it and start enjoying the amazing music. For the free MP3, you'll likely get instructions on how to download it with your purchase. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt or fingerprints on the record. Store the 2LP in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. And don't stack too many heavy things on top of the album sleeve to keep it in good shape.
