Fu Manchu: Daredevil (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP

It's no shock that Fun Manchu opened for Monster Magnet during the New Jersey band's 1995 tour. The East Coast stoner rock band members were big Fu Manchu fans, and the San Clemente band's sound owed much to them. 'Daredevil' isn't as 'Black Sabbath' - influenced as their early works. It's full of fuzzed - out, guitar - heavy hooks. They take a bit from 'Grand Funk' and 'Blue Cheer' without going overboard on pyrotechnics. Lead guitarist Eddie Glass pairs well with singer Scott Hill's laid - back vocals. The lyrics simply tell what the band likes. It's an enjoyable listen. This is a colored vinyl pressing, released by Bong Load Records in 1995 and At The Dojo Records in 2015. Reviewed by Hank Ohs in 07/2015.
