1990 feels like ages ago. This record was a game - changer back then. Titles with 'sex' were super edgy. Picture black guys in pimp outfits and fake noses; it was like a suburban invasion. Thirteen - year - olds were going wild with 'Humpty Dance' at school dances. Older kids claimed 'Sex Packets' could make you ejaculate without any funny business. 'Doowutchyalike' was a great follow - up that reached the midwest. 'Freaks of The Industry' is still one of the best album - only tracks ever. Looking back, this debut from the Oakland crew led by Shock - G / Humpty is even better than I recall. Against the trend, the songs showed musical restraint. They didn't overdo rhymes or use the loudest horn loops, and they had Pac as a backup dancer. With awesome tracks like 'Packet Man', 'Sex Packets', and 'Freaks', you can enjoy the album from start to finish. It has 14 tracks and is highly recommended. It's an 180 - gram pressing from Tommy Boy in 1990 and Rhino Records in 2015.
