Linda Jones: Hypnotized (180g) Vinyl LP+7 (Record Store Day)

This is an exclusive release for Record Store Day 2015! Soul Brother Records presents the first repress of Linda Jones' classic 1967 debut album, Hypnotized. Although mainly known for the title track, Jones was as talented as greats like Aretha and Gladys. Sadly, this gifted vocalist passed away in 1972 at just 28 due to diabetes - related complications. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, she was on the brink of stardom. Her gospel - infused melismatic vocals could captivate any audience. Producer and songwriter George Kerr was crucial in her career, promoting her demos and producing her debut LP. He brought in keyboardist Richard Tee for arrangements and musicians like guitarist Eric Gale and drummer Bernard Purdie for the recording. The result is an outstanding collection of soulful tunes, ranging from emotional ballads to more upbeat Motown - style numbers. This 180 - gram pressing also includes a bonus 7". To enjoy this vinyl LP, you'll need a record player. Just place the 180g vinyl gently on the turntable, and set the tonearm to the starting point of the record. For the bonus 7", adjust the speed on your record player to the appropriate setting. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting fingerprints or dirt on it. After each use, put the vinyl back in its sleeve to protect it from scratches. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. If you notice any dust on the vinyl, use a soft, anti - static brush to clean it before playing.
