This is an amazing encounter of jazz funk legends on vinyl. Herbie Hancock, a jazz icon, teams up with the legendary Jaco Pastorius, the bassist of Weather Report, to create a masterful fusion on this live recording. It was captured at Chicago's Ivanhoe Theater on February 16, 1977. The group, including Bennie Maupin and James Levi, starts with a great version of 'Chameleon,' then plays classic Herbie tunes like 'Maiden Voyage' and Maupin's 'It Remains to Be Seen.' It's a rare live recording originally broadcast on Chicago's WXRT - FM in 1977, presented on black vinyl. The musicians are Herbie Hancock on electric piano, Jaco Pastorius on bass, Bennie Maupin on tenor sax and bass clarinet, and James Levi on drums. The music is released by Alternative Fox in 2020.
