Timely reissue of Electrelane's highly sought - after sophomore album. After a modest debut, this British quartet joined Too Pure to expand their reach. They tried to book the All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP) music festival with the help of the legendary producer Steve Albini, but the roster was full. Albini invited them to work with him later, and in 2003, they recorded The Power Out at his Electrical Audio studio in Chicago over three weeks. The album has a more stripped - down sound than their debut, thanks to Albini's preference for all - analog, no - frills recording with limited effects. With a Krautrock influence and pop - music conventions, many songs are in foreign languages and have literary references. Standout track 'The Valleys' features the Chicago a cappella ensemble. Original pressings of The Power Out are sold at high prices. Now, you can get a faithful reissue at a great price. Comes with an MP3 download card. Music label: Too Pure 2013.
