Leon Michels revisits the sound of 2005's
Sounding Out The City, which introduced us to
El Michels Affair. Since then, he co - founded Big Crown Records, had a long list of great session work, and released two Wu - Tang cover records.
Adult Themes is his first full - length return to original compositions since
SOTC. The album shows a strong influence from French psych - pop library music like
Melody Nelson and
Le Mariage Collectif. The opening track “Enfant” features summer - like acoustic guitar, blaxploitation flute, and evocative cooing. The centerpiece “Life Of Pablo” starts with a baby's cry and turns into a huge stadium - style cop funk. The album's grand parts are spiced up with small pizzicato oddities and single - serving breakbeats. This is the kind of music that makes you want to make beats. It's a limited white vinyl version, highly recommended. It's on Big Crown Records 2020 and was reviewed by naffi sandwich in 10/2019.

To enjoy this album, simply place the white vinyl on your turntable and let the music play. It's a great way to relax or get inspired for your own music creation. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on the record. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place to prevent warping. Don't stack heavy objects on top of it. If the record gets dirty, you can use a vinyl cleaning brush to gently remove the dust. Enjoy this unique musical experience from El Michels Affair!
