In early 2020, after touring the world in support of 2019's Run Fast Sleep Naked, Nick Murphy started making feel - good music. Even though he'd retired his billion - streaming Chet Faker project four years earlier, the new tunes in his NYC studio had the energy of his early work. Murphy says reviving the project wasn't planned, but he ended up with a whole album. Hotel Surrender is a 10 - track LP with cool bass lines and exciting melodies, reintroducing Chet Faker to the world and Murphy himself. Like his 2014 debut Built on Glass, Murphy wrote and produced it alone, finishing most songs before COVID - 19 in March 2020. He admits he never worked so easily before. This is the first new Chet Faker material from Nick Murphy since 2014. It's an indie exclusive picture disc vinyl LP in a clear outer sleeve, a limited edition from Detail Records in 2021. A standard vinyl LP is also available.
