The talk about Black Marble's breakthrough LP 'It's Immaterial' often focused on Chris Stewart's move from NYC to LA. But 'Bigger Than Life' is his first proper LA record. After his car broke down upon arrival, he took the bus daily, which influenced this record. Stewart says it's more about how things are, not just his view. The sound is classic Black Marble, heavy on vintage analog gear. This time, he used MIDI on his MPC, detaching more from the computer. 'Bigger Than Life' starts straight - forward, with lyrics like 'I never ever met a normal girl who kept bones under her bed' just 30 seconds in. It has vintage coldwave vibes, but the melodies are brighter, poppier, and have a New Order feel. Tracks like 'Daily Driver', 'Grey Eyeliner', 'Shoulder' and the title track are as catchy as 'Immaterial'. 'One Eye Open' is perfect for goth club dancefloors. The record also has introspective moments, like 'Feels' and the sober closer 'Call'. Black Marble seems to have found a great home at Sacred Bones. This limited - edition variant comes on half - red, half - white colored vinyl. Music label: Sacred Bones Records 2019. Reviewed in 08/2019.

Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your record player, gently drop the needle on the starting groove, and enjoy the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt or oils on it. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place and keep it upright in a record sleeve to prevent warping. Don't expose it to direct sunlight for long periods as it can damage the vinyl and fade the colors. If the vinyl gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust and debris. Enjoy this unique and limited - edition music experience!
