Description

Lonnie Liston Smith, a legendary jazz - funk keyboardist, has left an indelible mark on the genre for over five decades. He started as a sideman for music greats like Miles Davis and later formed his own band, Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes, producing classic albums in the 70s. His music is the backbone of countless hip - hop samples. In 2020, he headlined Jazz Is Dead's Black History Month series. Now, he teams up with Jazz Is Dead again for Lonnie Liston Smith JID017, produced by Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge at the Linear Labs analog studio. This is the jazz - funk legend's first full - length album in over 25 years. It's the 17th volume of the Jazz Is Dead series with collaborations from Roy Ayers and others. The album comes on transparent yellow colored vinyl, is an indie exclusive, housed in a die - cut jacket with a printed inner sleeve, and is a limited edition from Jazz Is Dead 2023. A standard vinyl LP is also available.

Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on a compatible turntable, gently drop the needle onto the groove, and enjoy the smooth jazz - funk sounds. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on the record. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, standing it upright in a record rack to prevent warping. If you notice any dust on the vinyl, use a soft anti - static brush to gently clean it before playing. And remember, this is a limited - edition indie exclusive, so take good care of it to keep it in top condition for years of listening pleasure.
