Description

Light In The Attic, for their first release in the Japan Archival Series, offers an amazing collection of rarely - heard Japanese folk and rock gems from 1969 to 1973. 'Even A Tree Can Shed Tears' explores this pivotal era that transformed Japanese music. The 'angura' movement, born from the rising youth culture, challenged post - war traditions and led to 'New Music,' which emphasized authenticity and gave Japanese musicians new creative directions. This is a big contrast to the previous college folk music. The compilation features great songs like 'Mizu Tamari' by Fumio Nunoya, 'Marianne' by Gu, and more. It's the first fully licensed release of peak angura movement music for Western audiences. In the 1960s, Tokyo's Dogenzaka was a hotspot for jazz and rock cafes, hosting bands like Hachimitsu Pie and Tetsuo Saito. Meanwhile, in the Kansai region, a more political underground music scene emerged. The compilation also includes styles from Maki Asakawa, Kazuhiko Kato, and others. It comes in a deluxe gatefold Stoughton tip - on sleeve with Heisuke Kitazawa's artwork, a full - color booklet with liner notes and bios by Yosuke Kitazawa and Jake Orrall, and a traditional obi strip. It's highly recommended for music lovers.

To enjoy this vinyl, simply place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle on the start of the record. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt or oils on the surface, which can affect the sound quality. After each use, carefully return the vinyl to its sleeve to protect it from scratches. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place, standing upright on a shelf. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can warp the vinyl. The included booklet is a great addition to learn more about the musicians and the background of the music, so keep it safe with the vinyl.
