Discover the debut studio album from the talented reggae artist Hugh Mundell. 'Africa Must Be Free By 1983' was recorded between 1976 and 1978 when Mundell was just a teen. Augustus Pablo noticed him at Joe Gibbs' studio and invited him to Lee Perry's Black Ark to record this album. Pablo's backing band, featuring greats like Robbie Shakespeare, Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace, and Earl 'Chinna' Smith, is rock - solid. However, it's Mundell's passionate and sincere vocal delivery, especially on tracks like 'Let's All Unite' and 'My Mind', that truly makes this record special. There's also a Prince Jammy - produced dub version. With nine tracks in total, this black vinyl album is released by Greensleeves in a full - color sleeve. Music label: Greensleeves 2017.
