Description

Get ready for an outstanding musical journey with Donald Byrd's 'Byrd In Flight'. On the opening track 'Ghana', the lively solos of trumpeter Donald Byrd and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley instantly tell you this is going to be special. Recorded in 1960, Byrd is joined by Jackie Mclean on alto saxophone, Duke Pearson on piano, bassists Doug Watkins and Reggie Workman, and drummer Lex Humphries. Other gems include Byrd's amazing performance on the ballad 'Little Girl Blue' and the hard - bop tracks 'My Girl Shirl' and 'Lex', where Mobley's soulful solo shines. This 180g black vinyl is part of Blue Note's Tone Poet audiophile remaster series. It's housed in a glossy tip - on gatefold sleeve, with an all - analog remaster cut from the original tapes. It's back on vinyl for the first time since 2008, with music from Blue Note Records 2021.

To enjoy this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently remove the record from the sleeve, holding it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. Place it on the turntable and set the tonearm carefully on the start of the record. After listening, return the record to its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Keep the record in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If the record gets dirty, use a proper vinyl cleaning solution and a soft brush to clean it gently. Don't bend or drop the record, as it can damage the grooves and affect the sound quality.
