Description

Lillie Mae, a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and fiddle player, has an amazing musical journey. She got her first fiddle at 3 and toured with her family band until her parents' divorce at 11. Later, she formed the group Jypsi and signed with Arista in 2007. After the group split, she did session work for Jack White's Third Man Records, contributing to White's solo records and The Raconteurs' 2019 LP. Her 2017 solo album, Forever and Then Some, was also released on Third Man. In 2017, she performed as part of the backing band for the documentary American Epic. Her new album, Other Girls, produced by Dave Cobb (known for working with Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, and John Prine), blends retro Americana and contemporary country music. It's a melancholic yet non - melodramatic listen. Tracks like “You've Got Other Girls For That” start with honky - tonk twang and plain lyrics, “Whole Blue Heart” is lively bluegrass with Mae's warm vocals, and “Love Dilly Love” closes the album with a mix of percussion and psychedelic riffing. This limited - edition (only 1000 copies) record comes in a 4/4 printed sleeve and includes a 12x36 insert with lyrics and photos. It's a rainbow splatter vinyl pressing from Third Man Records in 2019, as reviewed by TALES FROM THE VAULT in 09/2019.

Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle onto the groove to start enjoying the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt or oils on the record, which can affect the sound quality. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Don't stack too many records on top of it to prevent warping. When removing the vinyl from the sleeve, do it carefully to avoid scratching the surface. And enjoy Lillie Mae's wonderful music!
