Denis Sulta's L.A Ruffgarden E.P. on Glasgow's Dixon Avenue Basement Jams is a must - have for house and techno fans. It might be the best release from the label so far. The three tracks each have their own unique charm. Inspired by a roof terrace built by his brother, the EP has a bit of a rough - around - the - edges feel. Sulta's productions are laid - back and meandering, yet they're incredibly engaging on the dancefloor. All three cuts are filled with free - floating percussion that gives a live vibe. The sample choices transport you to a tropical space far from Glasgow. There's also a dark and sinister undertone that takes the music to new heights. It's a rewarding listen for the adventurous.
