Description

The Arturia KeyStep is a revolutionary portable musical device that combines a keyboard controller and a polyphonic step sequencer to control both analog and digital instruments. It features a custom 32 - note slimkey keybed with full - sized key feel, velocity, and aftertouch. With multiple MIDI control options including USB, standard MIDI, CV/Gate for vintage analog gear, and DIN sync for vintage Roland units, it offers great flexibility. The polyphonic sequencer has up to 64 steps and can handle 8 simultaneous notes per step. There's also an 8 - mode arpeggiator, chord play mode, capacitive touch pitch and mod wheels, sustain pedal input, and a hold button. It's low - power and can run off an iPad with a camera connection kit or via a DC jack for standalone use. 'KeyStep is a new breed of portable musical tool combining the functionalities of a keyboard controller with a polyphonic step sequencer to control both analog and digital devices.' - Arturia. The Keystep inherits the best from the Beatstep and adds a 32 - key Slimkey keyboard for a great musical experience. Ideal for producers using a mix of software and hardware, it offers extensive control and built - in features.

Using the Arturia KeyStep is a breeze. First, connect it to your device. You can use USB to connect to a computer, or other ports like standard MIDI, CV/Gate, or DIN sync for different types of gear. For iPad use, you'll need a camera connection kit. Once connected, you can start playing on the 32 - key slimkey keybed. Use the polyphonic sequencer to create sequences with up to 64 steps and 8 notes per step. The arpeggiator has 8 modes, so you can experiment with different patterns. When it comes to the chord play mode, just play a chord and it will reproduce across the keybed. For sustain, you can either use the pedal input or the hold button. Remember, if you're using it standalone, connect it to a 9V power supply via the DC jack. Keep it in a dry and clean place to avoid any damage. And if you're not using it for a long time, disconnect it from the power source. That's all you need to know to start making great music with your KeyStep.
