In 2006, the wailing soul veteran Lee Fields was backed by Sugarman & Co. on this amazing track 'Stand Up'. The song features a twisting bass line and syncopated conga drums, along with blazing trumpet and expressive guitar riffs that create a fiery backdrop for Fields' powerful vocals. The B - side offers DJ - friendly breaks and 'blistering' trumpet solos by Dave Guy, gradually leading into psychedelic vibes. It's released by Daptone Records in 2006. Reviewed by kanim in 12/2016.
