Mr. Hood, an early 90s lost masterpiece, has a deceptively playful vibe. For their second album, KMD's subversive tone became even stronger, scaring away their label Elektra and hiding the infamous cover art. But now, this sophomore gem is finally available after rare, short runs. Production - wise, it's one of the best full - lengths. 'Suspended Animation' with its powerful bass has been a favorite for months. 'Plumskinzz' from the hard - to - find 'Nitty Gritty' 12' is split into 2 parts here. If you've heard the one - off singles on Fondle Em, you know the catchy loops of 'What A Niggy Know' and others. It's a shame about SubRoc, he and Doom were a great pair.
