Description

Discover this rare Chicago psyche rock gem! Haymarket Square, formed in Chicago in the late 60s, crafted some of the most coveted psychedelic rock from the Midwest. They recorded only one album, Magic Lantern, early in their career. Around that time, they were part of the Baron and Bailey Light Circus at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. Their sound is like Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, but with a heavier guitar focus than West Coast bands. Magic Lantern features a cover of 'The Train Kept A - Rollin,' a Tiny Bradshaw classic. Their sound is driven by heavy, fuzzed - out guitars and great musicianship. They gigged a lot around Chicago but didn't go much further. Thankfully, they left us this amazing album before disbanding. Music label: Guerssen 2013. Reviewed by Michu Meszaros 03/2014.

To enjoy this Haymarket Square vinyl LP, simply place it on your turntable and use the tonearm to gently drop it on the record. Play it at the correct speed (usually 33 1/3 RPM for LPs). When handling the record, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After use, put it back in its sleeve carefully. Store the record in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. If the record gets dirty, use a proper record cleaning brush to gently clean the grooves. Enjoy this piece of Midwest psychedelic rock history!
