The music of DJ Sprinkles (aka Terre Thaemlitz) is powerfully deep and emotive. His house music, rich in history and meaning, still has a great appeal on the dancefloor. The remixes on 'Queerifications & Ruins' showcase Thaemlitz's wide - ranging skills. Despite diverse sources, the results are consistently excellent. His reinterpretation of 'Lost Area' stirs a wide array of emotions rarely found in dance music, from the crooning 'so many tears' to a voice on the verge of breakdown. The 'Lost Dancefloor' version with a nearly 13 - minute breakbeat is a treat. Soothing chords and a friendly bass line make it club - friendly. Music label: Mule Musiq 2013.
