I first heard about Super Duper around 4 years ago, and we've received over 100 emails about its release date. The original Duck Breaks was amazing because it was so easy to use, and almost the whole record was useful. If you own it, you probably know the skratch sentences by heart. It was like the Midnight Marauders of break records. Super Duper is a great battle record. Whether it's as good as the original remains to be seen with time and use, but the formula is similar: simple beat arrangement and smartly - designed sentences. Side one starts with a stripped - down skratch beat, followed by 4 short old - school beats linked by bpms, enclosed by a well - formed skratch/beat sentence with more drum snippets, and ends with a downtempo electro beat. Side two is stronger, starting with 2 catchy skratch break beats (I love the first one), followed by a true skratch sentence. Then there's a Knight Rider - like electro beat, and the record ends with a marked descending tone section in a locked groove. It might live up to the hype; it's a great record that everyone will use. Features include a black 12' vinyl pressing, being a sequel to Babu's Super Duck Breaks, and having the Stones Throw 2000 music label. Reviewed by the mgmnt in 05/2005.
