Description

In 2009, APTBS (A Place To Bury Strangers) shed their Psychocandy influence and set out to find their own unique sound. On the Exploding Head album, they focus on crafting great songs with clear lyrics. Musically, it's more akin to Depeche Mode or New Order than J&MC. Yet, being the loudest band in New York, there's a thick layer of pedal fuzz over the whole mix. Frontman Oliver Ackermann's company, Death By Audio, makes boutique guitar pedals used by big names like Lightning Bolt, Nine Inch Nails, and U2. 'Slipping Away' is the album's highlight, and even after almost ten years, it's a standout in their work. But don't overlook 'Smile When You Smile', 'In Your Heart', or the title track. This expanded edition comes with a full bonus LP of rarities and demos. It's a clear double - vinyl pressing, housed in a gatefold jacket. It also includes an art card and a printed insert with liner notes. It's a limited - edition release from 2009, re - issued by Mute in 2022. Reviewed by sakura incident in 08/2018.

To use this vinyl record, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and set the tonearm on the record's edge. Sit back and enjoy the music. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After use, put the record back in its sleeve carefully to protect it from dust and damage. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place, standing upright on a shelf to prevent warping. Don't expose it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. This is a limited - edition item, so take extra care to keep it in good shape for long - term enjoyment.
