On The Lumineers' bold new album, III (released by Dualtone on September 13), every note, syllable, and moment of silence is full of emotion. Songwriters Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites show that simple arrangements can make intense songs. The album is named III not only because it's their third full - length album, but also because nine songs are divided into three chapters, each focused on one of three main characters. Besides the nine songs, there's an instrumental and three bonus songs. The chapters also serve as the visual bookend for a sequential video series of the nine tracks, directed by Kevin Phillips. Schultz reveals that the chapter idea dates back to 2007. They initially thought of naming the album Love, Loss and Crimes, but chose III. This 3rd studio album from the American folk - rock band comes as a clear colored vinyl pressing, packaged in a die - cut gatefold sleeve with printed inners. It also includes a digital download and is from Dualtone Music in 2019.
