Kurt Vile and Steve Gunn team up to mark 15 years of Three Lobed Recordings. One side of the vinyl is by Vile, the other by Gunn, but they both play on almost every track. The A - side features covers of Randy Newman's 'Pretty Boys' and John Prine's 'Way Back Then', plus two originals. The flip side has a Nico cover '60/40'. The arrangements highlight their intimate vocals over gently strummed banjo and guitar, with synth strings adding charm on 'Pretty Boys' and '60/40'. This is part of a larger series that includes Thurston Moore, Yo La Tengo, Hiss Golden Messenger, etc. It was originally in a pricey 5LP boxset, but now you can get this record on its own in a smart letter - pressed matte sleeve with a matchbook - style closure. To use this vinyl LP, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Place the vinyl gently on the turntable, center it, and then drop the needle on the starting groove. You can enjoy the beautiful music right away. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. After use, carefully put it back in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Store it in a cool, dry place, standing upright to prevent warping. And if you want to keep the sound quality at its best, you can clean the vinyl occasionally with a proper record cleaning solution and a soft brush.
