Description

You can't deny that Felix Manuel, known as Djrum, works in the post - dubstep realm. In fact, this music wouldn't have its unique sound without the influence of dubstep. But Portrait With Firewood is far more vivid than other works in its category. It's a visionary and therapeutic sonic experience. Manuel says, 'Music helps me express things I can't put into words. This album - making process has allowed me to create richer and more emotionally complex work than before.' Inspired by performance artist Marina Abramovic, Manuel combines syncopated techno beats and rolling breaks, adding field recordings, vocal fragments, and cello by Zosia Jagodzinska. Lola Empire's rain - smeared vocals in 'Waters Rising' bring back memories of vintage Foul Play. The drums are carefully programmed, and the quieter, atmospheric parts from 'Sparrows' to 'Blood In My Mouth' are equally amazing. 'Creature Pt. 1' starts with jubilant piano chords and then shifts to a slow - motion sub and Jagodzinska's somber cello over ambient field - recordings. 'Creature Pt. 2' explores similar themes with apocalyptic drums for club battles. The album reaches its climax in 'Showreel Pt. 3', continuing from the Broken Glass Arch EP. Manuel creates a blend of ethereal drones, free - jazz drums, gabber beats, and jungle madness. This album is released by R&S on black double vinyl, with full - color printed inner sleeves and artwork by Michael Mitsas. Recommended for music lovers.

To enjoy this Djrum 2LP vinyl, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and set the tonearm carefully on the start of the record. Adjust the volume to your preference. When not in use, store the vinyl in its protective sleeve to prevent scratches and dust. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can damage the vinyl. If the record gets dirty, use a proper vinyl cleaning brush to gently clean the grooves. This album is a great addition to any music collection, so sit back, relax, and let the unique post - dubstep sounds wash over you.
