Description

Bernard Purdie is a legendary drummer, perhaps the most recorded in history. Starting as a session player, he became Aretha Franklin's musical director, did over - dubs for The Beatles, and recorded with many greats like Steely Dan, Cat Stevens, etc. His 1967 solo debut, Soul Drums, was a critical success at first and later a hit among DJs and hip - hop producers. Now, Soul Drums is back on vinyl after years, along with a bonus LP of the long - lost Alexander's Ragtime Band, never released before on vinyl. This deluxe gatefold re - issue comes with liner notes from a recent interview and rare 1960s photos. Key features include: a 1968 debut album from the prolific funk & soul drummer Bernard Purdie, a black double vinyl pressing, a bonus LP with the previously unreleased follow - up album, a gatefold jacket with rare photos and extensive liner notes, and it's from the music label Nature Sounds 2018.

Using your Bernard Purdie's Soul Drums vinyl is easy. First, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable, center it, and drop the needle carefully on the lead - in groove. Enjoy the amazing funk and soul music. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, return the vinyl to its gatefold jacket to protect it from dust. Store the vinyl upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If the vinyl gets dirty, use a vinyl cleaning brush to gently remove dust. Don't use harsh chemicals on the vinyl as it can damage the sound quality.
