Shapeshifter is Knuckle Puck's second full - length album, following 2015's Copacetic. This Chicago - based band builds on its debut's passionate pop - punk. Their songwriting is 'tighter and more deliberate', with 'introspective and urgent' lyrics over melodic guitar riffs, buoyant keyboard sounds, and fast rhythms. Knuckle Puck excels at crafting songs about lost love, mental illness, and relationships. Shapeshifter is a great sophomore effort, maintaining their original sound while showing growth.
