Description

One of the rarest 70s private - press jazz LPs finally gets a top - notch vinyl pressing from Aguirre under Eremite Records' license. Originally released in 1973, this album was first made widely available in a 2006 remastered CD edition. Recorded live at the Catacombs Club in Philadelphia around October 6, 1972. Bandleader Khan Jamal's clarinet playing and adventurous vibes & marimba phrases make the session unpredictable. Alex Ellison and Dwight James' dueling drums are the heart of the album. Live sound engineer Mario Falana's use of space - echo gives the recording an otherworldly feel. The audio was carefully transferred from a mint original LP at Sony Music's 54th street studio. The artwork precisely replicates the original center labels and hand - drawn cover. It's a black vinyl pressing with remastered audio, a printed insert with extensive liner notes by Ed Hazell, and it's a limited - edition release from Aguirre Records in 2022. Highly recommended.

To enjoy this vinyl LP, simply place it on your turntable and drop the needle gently on the grooves. Make sure your turntable is clean and well - maintained for the best sound quality. When handling the LP, hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original sleeve, to prevent warping and damage. After each use, wipe the LP gently with a soft, anti - static cloth to keep it clean. Don't expose the LP to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures as this can affect the sound and the integrity of the vinyl.
