It features a Black Sabbath - like riff leading to two - note build - ups, with funky drums and majestic horns. The 7 - minute jam session is a masterpiece that would make Africa 70 envious. 'Past Present and Future' is the standout track, but the rest of the album is also highly listenable. The songs are complex with starts, stops, breaks, and crescendos - check 'Mercy' and the second movement of 'Another Country'. The cover might be a bit disturbing, but the music is so good you'll forget the band is British from 1970. Original copies are expensive, so grab this Music On Vinyl 2023 pressing on magenta vinyl. It's a limited edition of 1500, with individually stamped and numbered copies.
