The phrases 'highly anticipated' and 'long awaited' are often overused, but it's been four years! Grimes is back on 4AD with 'Miss Anthropocene'. It's a concept album about a climate - change goddess, a psychedelic space demon and beauty - queen who loves the end of the world. Each song represents human extinction through a pop - star demonology. The album features collaborations with ÅËPAN and i_o and follows successful digital singles like 'We Appreciate Power'. The lead single 'Violence' is a moody goth - pop hit with Grimes' iconic vocals, big and bold yet charmingly rough. 'So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth' is reminiscent of the simpler compositions of her earlier albums like 'Halifaxa', a slow - burning ethereal tune. This limited - edition album comes on indie - exclusive pink vinyl, packaged in a gatefold sleeve with Grimes' own artwork. To enjoy this vinyl album, first, carefully take it out of the gatefold sleeve. Place it gently on your record player. Make sure your player is set up correctly and the stylus is in good condition. Play it at the appropriate speed (usually 33 1/3 RPM for LPs). When you're done listening, handle the vinyl by its edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches.
