So nice, he did it twice! The identity of Garrett remains a bit of a mystery, but we're bound by contract to be coy. Garrett's work, with D. Riddick behind it, satisfies our love for the smooth instrumental side of modern funk. While he's working on a new D**-***k album, these Garrett LPs are just what we need, like a throwback to Rhythm Trax IV and the thoughtful parts of Toeachizown. The unhurried beats and lush minor - key synthscapes are amazing. From the first chords of “Gotta Get Through It,” you're hooked. The soulful Rhodes and extraterrestrial pads in “Change” are great, and the beat could fit right in on Sound Signature. “Sitting At The Bar Waiting” is a standout, with a rhythm perfect for a solo chill before a gig in Europe. There are 7 tracks, all top - notch. It's a black vinyl pressing from Music From Memory in 2018. Highly recommended.
