This is a must - have for skaters. It's an official release featuring Kenny Dixon Jr.'s super funky edit of Funkadelic's “Cosmic Slop”. A slightly different version was released a few years ago on his KDJ imprint. Moodymann's take on it extends the original psych - funk classic to almost 10 minutes and amps up the bongo beats. On Side B, Moody, using his birth name, gives a similarly subdued treatment to “Let's Make It Last” from the Cosmic Slop LP. Both tracks are from the upcoming Funkadelic Reworked By Detroiters compilation, where artists like Moody, Underground Resistance, Andres, Recloose, Amp Fiddler, and Marcellus Pittman reinterpret the outfit's catalog.
