LAB POINTS

  • Hand-built in Brooklyn, NY, this mini electronic synthesizer offers a unique touch.
  • An upgraded version of the original Pocket Piano, it comes with more features and an intuitive layout.
  • Fully wireless and portable, powered by batteries with a built-in speaker (wired output and USB power are also options).
  • It has a high-quality build with a tactile feel, thanks to its anodized aluminum enclosure and maple wood buttons.
  • Six sound engines provide a wide variety of sonic textures, from chiptune waveforms to human vocal synthesizers.
  • You can play directly on the keyboard or create patterns and arpeggios using the knobs.
  • The onboard sequencer lets you record a sequence, adjust the sound, and then save it.
  • It easily integrates with other gear via MIDI in/out.
  • Move files and patterns on and off the instrument through the USB-C connector.

At the core of the 201 are six sound engines that offer a wide range of sonic textures. Use the shift key to select an engine. You'll find a bit of everything: chiptune-style waveforms, analog-style filters, drum samples, realistic physical instrument models, and even a human vocal synthesizer. Use the three center control knobs to explore the sounds further. Set the right amount of sustain or adjust the tone. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, turn the 'surprise' knob! - Critter & Guitari

Using your Critter & Guitari 201 Pocket Piano is a breeze. First, power it on. You can use 3x AA batteries or connect it to a power source via the USB - C port. If you've got the external power supply that comes with it, just plug in the USB - A to USB - C power cable. Once it's on, you can start playing right away on the keyboard. If you want to get creative, use the knobs to generate patterns and arpeggios. To access different sounds, use the shift key to select one of the six sound engines. Then, use the three center control knobs to adjust the sound further. The onboard sequencer is great for recording your music. Just record a sequence, tweak the sound to your liking, and save it. You can move files and patterns on and off the instrument using the USB - C connector. When it comes to maintenance, keep it in a dry place. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you're not using it for a long time, remove the batteries to prevent damage. Also, be gentle with the keyboard keys and knobs to ensure they last. And if you want to connect it to other gear, use the MIDI in/out ports. That's all you need to know to start making amazing music with your 201 Pocket Piano!
