Description

Don't categorize it as 'trip-hop'. 100th Window is essentially a solo record by Robert '3D' Del Naja, making it Massive Attack's darkest and most expansive work so far. After the guitar - heavy direction of Mezzanine, founding member Andrew 'Mushroom' Vowles left the band, and Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall skipped this album due to personal reasons. With producer Neil Davidge, Del Naja builds on the cinematic sound of Mezzanine's hits 'Angel' and 'Teardrop'. He creates 9 dense, claustrophobic tracks in nearly an hour and fifteen minutes. Unlike Mezzanine, 100th Window shatters the band's jazz and rare - groove roots. It offers chilling electronic - noir masterpieces like 'Future Proof' and 'Small Time Shot Away' with Del Naja's lead vocals. Horace Andy's ghostly voice fits perfectly on 'Name Taken' and 'Everywhen', taking the collaboration to a new level. Sinead O'Connor shines with her bleak lyrics on three sinister cuts. This is a must - listen on headphones. In 2017, Blue Lines, Protection, No Protection, and Mezzanine got official represses. In 2018, Virgin presents the first - ever vinyl repress of 100th Window and its follow - up, Heligoland. It's a 180g triple vinyl pressing. Tracklisting includes 'Future Proof', 'What Your Soul Sings' and more. Release date is TBD, and it's from Virgin in 2018. Highly recommended!

To enjoy this Massive Attack vinyl, simply place it on your turntable. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition for the best sound. When handling the vinyl, hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. After each use, put it back in its sleeve carefully to prevent scratches. Store it upright in a cool, dry place to keep it in great shape for years to come. This album is best listened to with good - quality headphones to fully appreciate the rich, detailed sound.
