Jonti: Twirligig LP

Jonti, a multi - instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and vocalist, makes his amazing debut on Stones Throw. This album is inspired by his Aussie favorites like Madlib, Stereolab, Free Design, and The Beach Boys, along with the influence of cartoonist/filmmaker Norma Mclaren. Jonti says Mclaren's films are complex yet fun, full of enthusiasm for techniques and experimentation. Tracks such as 'Firework Spraying Moon', 'Twirligig', 'Snickers Hiss', 'Spooky Sport', 'Solar Smoking Dogs', and 'Hornets Nest' follow this 'complex - but - fun' style, making the album easy to enjoy while offering plenty of intricate textures for exploration. The cover features cool psychedelic patterns. It's a 2011 release from Stones Throw and highly recommended.
