Description

While Andy Warhol dreamed of becoming a machine, Gary Numan made it a reality. The son of a London bus - driver, Numan joined the Air Training Corps as a teen, initially eyeing a pilot's career. His rise as the leader of Tubeway Army in 1979 delayed his pilot's license, yet he still founded Numanair, which ran until 2013. His love for vehicles and machines is clear in his hit 'Cars'. 'The First Recordings' showcases the evolution of Numan's first solo LP 'The Pleasure Principle'. Much of the material is on vinyl for the first time. Two tracks ('Tracks (Demo Version)', 'Cars (Demo Version 1)') are previously unreleased. This 2 - disc set features alternate takes of iconic Numan songs like 'M.E.', 'Airlane' and more, plus four tracks from a 1979 BBC Peel Session. Pressed on orange vinyl and packaged in a custom die - cut sleeve like a vintage master recording, it comes with printed inner sleeves and detailed liner notes. It's a limited - edition release from Beggars Banquet in 2019. Also available: Gary Numan: Replicas - The First Recordings (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 2LP.

To use this vinyl record, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently remove the record from its sleeve, holding it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. Place it on the turntable and start the playback. When you're done, carefully put the record back in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Store the record in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Try to keep it in an upright position to prevent warping. If the record gets dirty, you can use a vinyl record cleaning brush to gently clean the grooves. Don't use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as they can damage the record.
