There was a sheltered kid in my dorm who always interjected with his favorite bands like The Shins or Iron And Wine. He was soon dubbed “Garden State”. This soundtrack has outlasted the movie as it captures a specific moment in time. The song selection, which tugs at your heartstrings and stirs emotions, became well - known because it fit each scene perfectly. Tracks from Thievery Corporation, Nick Drake, and a Simon & Garfunkel classic set the mood so well that we're still talking about it in 2014.
