Description

This is a live album by the famous Hungarian jazz guitarist Gabor Szabo. 'The Sorcerer' was first recorded in 1967 at Boston's Jazz Workshop. It captures the excitement Szabo's group created in 1967 - 1968. His quartet included Jimmy Stewart on guitar, Louis Kabok on bass, Marty Morell on drums, and Hal Gordon as percussionist. They offer eastern - flavored renditions of 'The Beat Goes On' by Sonny and Cher and 'What Is This Thing Called Love' by Cole Porter, plus some Szabo originals and covers of French pop and bossanova tunes. This album elevated Szabo from a well - known jazz figure to a larger pop audience. It comes in a black vinyl pressing, originally released in 1967 under the Impulse! label in 2015. There are eight tracks in total. Reviewed by Cool Hand in 02/2016.

To use this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Place the record gently on the turntable platter and use the tonearm to lower the needle onto the first groove. Enjoy the rich, warm sound of the jazz music. When handling the record, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. After each use, carefully return the record to its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping. If you notice any dust on the record, use a soft, anti - static brush to clean it before playing.
