Description

Lab exclusive! 'Expensive Shit' is one of Fela Kuti's most famous works. The title track tells a hilarious story of Fela being charged for having weed. Fela, the fearless afrobeat pioneer, often confronted politicians and high - ranking police or army officers. In 1974, he was arrested when police saw him swallow a joint during a raid on his home. Officers tried in vain to get him to confess. Eventually, he faced the head of Nigerian Interpol. Fela spent three days in jail as authorities waited for evidence. The track features a great solo by trumpeter Tunde Williams. On the flip side, 'Water No Get Enemy' is a slower but powerful piece with Fela on his signature tenor sax and a tight rhythm section. This is a must - have for funk lovers and afrobeat enthusiasts. It's a Turntable Lab exclusive 'water blue' colored vinyl, limited to 500 copies. Each comes with a digital download code printed on special plantable seed paper. Music label: Knitting Factory 2019, TTL Editions 012. Limit 2 per customer. Reviewed by Se or Sue o Latino 08/2014.

To use this vinyl LP, just place it on your turntable and drop the needle gently on the record. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface. Store the record in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. This will prevent warping and damage. Don't stack too many records on top of it as it can cause pressure and affect the shape. Enjoy the great afrobeat and funk music on this limited - edition 'water blue' vinyl, and use the digital download code printed on the plantable seed paper to listen to the music on other devices.
