In 1973, David Bowie was already a superstar. He was touring with The Spiders from Mars and crafting his next masterpiece after the huge success of 'Ziggy Stardust'. Bowie aimed to capture the harmonica sound of The Stones' debut album with 'The Jean Genie'. The outcome is a timeless, blues - heavy track, a bit different from his Ziggy Stardust glam rock. The b - side features the newly recovered January 1973 BBC Top Of The Pops performance of 'The Jean Genie'. Both tracks are faithfully remastered by original Trident engineer Ray Staff.
