This long - awaited solo album from Seattle singer - songwriter Damien Jurado is a gem. From his early scratchy cassettes to his work on Sub Pop and Secretly, Jurado has been extremely productive. Recorded before the tragic passing of producer Richard Swift, whose absence is keenly felt, 'In The Shape of A Storm' is Jurado's most stripped - down record. It often features just solo acoustic guitar, leaving behind complex textures for raw Americana. With minimal processing on instruments and voice, this album is an archive of previously abandoned songs, tied together by vivid nature metaphors. Pressed on limited edition 'aspen bark colored' (clear with black splatter) vinyl, it comes in a reverse board jacket with a printed inner sleeve and includes a digital download. Released by Mama Bird Recording Co in 2019.
