Get ready for the debut album from Oakland's Afrikan Sciences, now available on vinyl! 'Means And Ways', originally released in 2011, is the first full - fledged work from this unique producer. In Afrikan Sciences' special take on house music, African and Latin rhythms blend with free jazz. The album starts with free - form pieces and then gets into a house groove in 'Two As 36'. On 'Call Back', the experimental improvisations might make you think of Jamal Moss (Hieroglyphic Being). The middle part explores more, but by the end, it brings you to an alternate world. Tracks like 'Wreck Create', 'Nanorock Skank', and 'Ways And Means' are great for the dance floor, yet there are plenty of unexpected elements. With eleven tracks in total, it's released by Deepblak on double vinyl in a full - color gatefold sleeve. Features include double vinyl pressing, a gatefold sleeve, and it's from the music label Deepblak in 2016. Reviewed by Dis Jointed in 08/2016.
