El Michels Affair follows up their huge hit Yeti Season with The Abominable EP. This EP features unreleased tracks, alternate takes, and instrumentals from the Yeti Season recording sessions. EMA blends their signature cinematic soul sound with Turkish Funk and Bollywood soundtrack influences, creating an instant classic. The EP kicks off with the unreleased 'Messy Grass', where a synth intro with distant yeti cries leads to a great backing track for Tamer Pinarbasi's Qanun. On 'Cham Cham', Piya Malik returns to share her unique vocals over an instrumental from Yeti Season. Some tunes have vocals added, while others are instrumental, giving them a different vibe. The EP comes with two different covers. Each cover has two paintings by Ghanaian mobile cinema artists commissioned through Chicago's Deadly Prey Gallery, interpreting the original album artwork. One version features paintings by Stoger and Heavy J, who also worked on the Return To The 37th Chamber album cover. The other cover has paintings by Teshie and Farkira. This is a limited - edition, indie - exclusive 'baby yeti blue' colored vinyl released by Big Crown Records in 2021.
