Analog Africa dives deep for this must - have release, 'Dur Dur of Somalia - Volume 1, Volume 2 & Previously Unreleased Tracks'. They bring the groovy, hypnotic sound of the Dur - Dur Band to the forefront once more. Formed in 1980s Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, the Dur - Dur Band quickly became one of the country's most popular and funkiest bands. The music on these 3 LPs is a blend of funk, with spacey psychedelic guitars, ethio - style modes, and Fela - style grooves that create an irresistible sound hard to fit into a single Western genre. By mixing traditional Somalian rhythms and vocals with Western sounds like new wave, disco, afrobeat, funk, soul, and reggae, their music is truly unique and catchy. Just drop the needle on the first track, 'Ohiyee', and you'll find yourself bobbing your head as the drums and fuzz guitar kick in. This release compiles the band's first two cassette - only albums from 1986 and 1987, plus two unreleased tracks and detailed liner notes. Check out tracks like 'Ohiyee', 'Yabaal', 'Salkudhigey', 'Saafiyeey Makaa Saraayeey' and 'Diinleeya'. Ideal for fans of Fela Kuti, Mulatu Astatke, Ata Kak, etc. It comes with 18 great tracks on triple vinyl, two unreleased tracks, and liner notes with interviews of original band members documenting Somalia's golden cultural age. This set features a triple vinyl pressing, a gatefold sleeve, and a digital download. It's released by Analog Africa in 2018. Highly recommended!

Using this triple vinyl set is easy. First, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently remove the vinyl from the gatefold sleeve, holding it by the edges to avoid fingerprints. Place the record on the turntable and set the tonearm to drop the needle at the start of the track. Sit back and enjoy the unique sounds of the Dur - Dur Band. When you're done, carefully lift the tonearm and return the vinyl to its sleeve. To keep your vinyl in great shape, store it upright in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. If the vinyl gets dirty, use a proper vinyl cleaning brush to gently remove dust and debris. And don't forget, you also have a digital download option, so you can enjoy the music on your mobile devices or computers too.
