Description

Two years ago, I first heard Devendra Banhart's rough home - made recordings. He was a homeless, wandering, neo - psych/folk hippie artist under 21 at that time. We released these unique recordings on YGR as we'd never heard anything like them. His voice, like a quivering high - tension wire, seemed to be from 70 years ago, and the songs could have been in an attic since the 1930s. When recording new music, we faced a choice: continue with hiss - saturated home recordings or go to a professional studio. We decided to move forward as his songwriting and guitar playing had advanced significantly. Then, a perfect opportunity arose. Lynn Bridges, working with Jimmy Johnson of Mussel Shoals fame, invited us to his house on the Alabama/Georgia border. There, we recorded 32 songs (from 57 Devendra initially submitted) in his living room using top - notch vintage gear. Devendra played non - stop for 10 days, 12 hours a day. This set includes two 2004 full - lengths from the psychedelic folk musician on black double vinyl. It has 2 bonus tracks not on the CD version and comes in a gatefold sleeve. Music label: Young God Records 2021.

To use this vinyl set, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and use the tonearm to lower the needle onto the groove. Sit back and enjoy the rich sound of Devendra Banhart's music. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, carefully return the vinyl to its sleeve and store it upright in a cool, dry place. Don't expose it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures as this can damage the vinyl. If you notice any dust on the vinyl, use a soft, anti - static brush to clean it before playing.
