Dominatrix: The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight 7

The first and only single from Dominatrix is now available on hot pink 7" vinyl. Back in 1984, 'The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight' was an amazing synth - pop experiment. Stuart Argabright (of Ike Yard / Black Rain fame), producer Ken Lockie, vocalist Claudia Summers, and keyboardist Peter Baumann (of Tangerine Dream!) came together. Released on Arthur Baker's Streetwise imprint, it was one of the first 'Freestyle' records to hit the mainstream. It also became popular in many underground NYC scenes, from B - boy circles to bondage circles. Today, its catchy hooks, solid drum programming, and freaky, poppy synths still make it a hit on the dancefloor. On the flip side, there's the ultra - rare 'Beat Me Sratch Me Scratch Me Beat Me' Mix by Kool DJ Red Alert, previously only on hard - to - find UK and German 7" pressings.
