In the disco realm, it's a rarity to find an artist like Arthur Russell. This left - field disco maestro had an eclectic background. He studied cello and Indian music at the Ali Akbar Khan School in SF, accompanied beat poets like Allen Ginsberg, collaborated with big bands featuring musicians like David Byrne, and crafted some of disco's greatest works. In 1979, he produced Sire Records' first hit, Dinosaur's 'Kiss Me Again', and Loose Joints' 'Is It All Over My Face' before founding Sleeping Bag Records with Will Socolov. Tracks like 'Clean On Your Bean #1' showcase his modern production skills. Its reverberating slap bass intro, new - wave horns, eerie chords, and addictive hook are still envied by producers today. The line in 'Go Bang! (Thank You Arthur Edit)' captures the energy of the early 80s disco/new - wave scene. Check out his more experimental jams like '#7' and '#3 (in The Corn Belt)' to see his wild side. The album also includes the '#5 Go Bang! (Francois K Mix)' and 'In The Corn Belt (Larry Levan Mix)' with unique versions from key NY DJs. Pressed on double white vinyl, this album is a must - have for fans of NYC underground music, left - field disco, and just having a great time. Music label: Sleeping Bag. To enjoy this album, simply place the double white vinyl record on your turntable and start playing. Make sure your turntable is in good working condition for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches on the playing surface. After each use, store the record in its sleeve to protect it from dust and damage.
